The Catalyst Center

The vehicle for advancing positive change

As many of you are already aware, California Alliance has been intentionally investing energies to broaden supports for our member agencies and the broader field of child and family services. We recognize that in order to address the needs of our member agencies, we needed to be thoughtful about how we are engaging the field in our advocacy efforts and infusing their voices throughout our efforts in systems change. In effect, California Alliance is proud of have launched its new Catalyst Center (“the Catalyst”), the catalyst vehicle that leverages connections between research, policy, and practice to inform and lead capacity building efforts across the state of California for providers in the fields of child and family services.

In 2019, the Catalyst was able to engage over 300 individuals in a series of community forums to learn about the school-based mental health models being implemented via public-private partnerships. We were able to inspire thought and practice innovation by bringing information to our members and the broader field about an internationally recognized model of foster care, and brought to our members an opportunity to build capacity on the topic of advocacy in the nonprofit sector.

The Catalyst launches our new website dedicated to the field of child and family services. This website will host a robust resource portal dedicated to up-to-date materials related to best practices in telehealth and virtual support, organizational and network supports and advancements in these new times, fund development, local-level community offerings, and managing care for others in addition to care for yourself and staff. The website will be live in early April, and we will announce details at that time.
